Ross Lovegrove
Andromeda, Ross Lovegrove’s new addition to his luminaire collection for Yamagiwa, would take its name from the spiral galaxy approximately 2,500,000 light-years away, and visible to the naked eye, as opposed to princess Andromeda from Greek mythology who, due to her bragging mother was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to a sea monster.
True to Lovegrove’s design approach, Andromeda is a fluid skeletal form. The light from the hidden LEDs reflect off small strategically positioned mirrors, and bounces around and through the floating organic structure.
